I started out with white, and pale blue on my palette... and a vision of apple blossoms and a summer sky. And by the time I was finished, I had this:
"Waiting for the Present to Pass" - Triptych, Mar 2006
Oil on Canvases, 4" x 6" (x3)

BUT, as a single painting it makes way more sense.. with the composition as a whole. Looking at it in 3 sections, makes the middle section seem boring.

Perhaps I should try a little harder next time to make sure the seams are more gradual and not so apparent. Do you think you would have noticed the seams if you hadn't seen it separated first?
I never really noticed that it's boring until you pointed it out. I suppose since I painted it together as one, it has just stayed that when in my head, regardless of the fact that it's actually three canvases.
I think if they were separated completely, it would look ridiculous, but I was hoping that the placement would kind of bring them together.
I think it's funny that you find triptychs unoriginal *L*

I don't know much about painting, but when you painted them did you have the canvasses joined already.. or did you do them individually?
As for the seams, I do notice them.. it looks like it was an obvious seam that's been photoshopped with a clone tool or something to try to hide it.
Anyways, good work on them.. the colours and mood are really nice.

I can't make excuses regarding the seams -- it was a half-assed job *L* ... I guess it was more to get a 'feel' for it, rather than have it as the final. I did paint them all together - I just placed all three canvases together and did it as if it were one... Then split them up afterwards.
Sometimes people find it hard to give criticism... But it really is constructive, so I do appreciate it! :)

Very brooding. I likey. I like the 3 part just because it is different. In art, these days, nothing is original so just do what feels right.

Wait a second... You aren't all shocked because I actually painted something you like, are you!?
Yeah, as I mentioned, this was supposed to be happy, spring-y, fluffy, girly, etc etc etc... In the end, it just turned out Tara-y! *L* Which, I suppose, is brooding ;)
Maybe the next one will be all those 'positive' things!
