Puzzle 011 - Shroomfield!

[Somehow, Luke managed to get a hold of some of those "special" mushrooms! It didn't take long before the mushrooms took effect, and suddenly Mayfield went from bright and cheery to bleak, desolate, and run-down. The streets that are usually crowded with drones are now all gone, although Luke can see glimpses of fleeting shadows.

[Oh Luke remembers your voice. He goes to say, "It's me, Luke! We spoke on the phone, remember?" only to realize no sounds is coming out. He frantically points at himself, before realizing he has no way of telling Kid who he is.

But that didn't matter right now, it was too dangerous to stay outside. Luke will point at a nearby building and pull on Kid's sleeve.]

[Kid decides maybe it wouldn't be so awful to play into the boy's panic. Not to encourage him to panic so much as to not tell him to cut it out--obviously the kid was upset about something.]

I'll go with you, but I would really appreciate it if you would tell me what is going on first.

[Luke points at one of the "death traps", which in Luke's mind was a bear trap suspended above them just a couple feet away. To Kid, it will look like Luke's pointing at a fence.

And he's getting more frustrated by the minute. He would tell you if he could, Kid.]

[Kid follows Luke's pointing finger to the fence, raising an eyebrow.]

I'll go with you, but you do realize that's just a fence that you're pointing at, right?

[Luke shakes his head. It wasn't a fence...

He approaches a nearby house, not really caring that it could belong to anyone, before trying to motion him inside.]

Unless that is your house, I don't suggest we just waltz inside.

[This time, Kid is gently resisting Luke's tugging, planting himself where he stood.]

You really do need to relax. I'm not sure what's gotten you so riled up, but it probably isn't what you think it is seeing as half of the town is acting strangely.
