The short version: OMGSQUEE!!!!

Hey Everyone!

I considered sending out multiple e-mails with the details of my busy weekend, but this seemed like the easier way to do things. Now anyone who's interested can find the whole story here.
Day 1
Of course, the focus of my weekend was Jeffrey's show in Pittsburgh last night. The day started on a positive note, with me forgetting the tickets not once, but twice. Yeah. Luckily, we were 20 minutes away the first time and only five the second time, so we didn't drive the full hour+ to Pittsburgh and have to come back. And, we still had time to drive down a few hours early and walk around the city to do some shopping before the show. A lot of the stores had closed early for some reason, but we found a little Asian grocery store that was fun to look around. Jason ended up with some varieties of rice and noodles, and a pack of miso soup, which made him super happy. I resisted the urge to buy Wasabi and eat it straight out of the tube.
After that, we headed to the other side of the city for the concert. The venue was extremely small (100 people at most), so I wanted to be there as soon as the doors opened and get good seats. My plan was made almost impossible, however, by the complete lack of parking in the city. We ended up stopping at a Burger King to ask a local-looking guy if he knew of any places near by that we could park. He was extremely helpful and nice, but it turned out that the closest lot was six blocks away from where we wanted to be. So after parking and paying the fee, we had less than ten minutes to get back to where we had started. Pre-show adrenaline kicked in, though, and we walked the six blocks in six minutes, arriving exactly one minute early. (That may not sound like much to you, but I was in spike-heeled boots. My grand total for the day was around 24 blocks, and I woke up this morning with bruises that stretched the entire length of the balls of my feet). We were third in line to get in, and ended up with seats in the front row, probably less than two feet from the edge of the stage.
As I said before, the venue was really tiny, but that actually just made it a really great, intimate show. It was so relaxed, in fact, that at about 20 minutes before he was supposed to be on stage, Jeffrey walked in the front door with his guitar over his shoulder. I may have drooled.
For those who are interested in the details of my very first 21+ show...Yes, I did get carded and it took the poor guy at the door forever to look at my birth date and decide if he could let me in or not. And, no, I did not get drunk, though I enjoyed some yummy cranberry juice and vodka during the show.
There were a few die hard fans that had driven out from Harrisburg to see the show, but also an equally enthusiastic group of Pittsburgh fans. It would take pages at this point to describe all the great parts of the show, so I'll just say that it was amazing, as usual. Jason had a blast, which made me happy; he ended up buying a cd and having it signed. Jeffrey was a sweetie, and stayed for quite a while to sign autographs and chat. If anyone wants details or to hear the goofy show stories ("chillin' with my spray bottle..."), feel free to ask me anytime. Or, if you want a good laugh, just ask Jason to demonstrate the Man Dance(tm) for you. ;-)
Day 2
Today we were up at the crack of dawn to go to an SCA event about an hour and a half north of here. Jason was supposed to fight in a tournament, but he ended up being the only one qualified who showed up, so that was disappointing for us. We got to spend the day with some friends, though, which was fun. We also got to see some of the SCA equestrian events that we've never seen before, including the brand new jousting competition. The highlight of that was that one of the knights in this Kingdom own a Friesian "war horse", who was HUGE and absolutely gorgeous. Watching him joust was a blast.

The downside is that my cheeks, nose, forehead, and part are now all fried with the sunburn from hell. I look like a lobster and, my god, does it hurt.
After the event, we drove up to the state park and beach at lake Erie, because we were only a few minutes away.

It was pretty chilly up there, but we drove the whole way through the park just to enjoy the sights, and walked around the beach for a few minutes. We're making plans to go up again in a few weeks, and stay for the full day. There are really nice bike trails and quiet beaches.
Unfortunately, the weekend is now very close to over, and I have a bio test at 8am tomorrow morning, so I'm going to wrap up this narrative. Again, if anyone wants to hear about something in even more painful detail than this, just ask. I'll be more than happy to share.
I hope everyone had an equally wonderful weekend and that you all have a great week to come. Talk to you again soon.
