Marriage

In a speech Wednesday, Bush said he opposes extending marriage rights to homosexuals. "I believe marriage is between a man and a woman, and I think we ought to codify that one way or another," Bush told reporters. "And we've got lawyers looking at the best way to do that." *LINK* The administration is working on a law that would define marriage as a union between a man and a woman only.

Bush's comments on marriage were headline material on CNN.Com. Fox News reported on the speech, but buried the comments about gay marriage towards the end of the story. *FOX LINK*

People who opposed the war in Iraq were considered "unpatriotic" for disagreeing with Bush. Does that mean any gay person who speaks out in favor of marriage rights will automatically be considered un-American?

Poly people take note: he said _A_ man and _A_ woman--only ONE of each. Anything different than that would also be against the law. It makes me wonder... If gay marriage becomes illegal, how long would it be before the government outlaws other "alternative" lifestyles..?

What's to stop them?
