Yesterday I was just wondering what happened to the semester, measured in terms of home football games, homework, trips on the bus, school observations, jobs, and limited times with friends. I've found myself nearly as busy as that first semester. Though classes have given me a lot of work, thankfully not nearly as many tears as that trial period.
So, fall 2008
- one of the worst U of M football seasons in History, but it was expected, in a way. The team experienced some devastating losses, (esp. to Toledo) a few wins- Miami of Ohio, Wisconsin (by some miracle) and Minnesota (we just captured the Little Brown jug). Two games left, so we'll see what happens. No bowl game this year, first time in a long time, but I feel the team improved during the past few games, and tried their hardest despite obstacles.
- The election finallly came to an end this past Tues. No more political ads- hooray!! In quite a sweeping and historic victory also. In January, our first African American President comes to Washington, Barack Obama. Record numbers at the polls, (prob. record waiting lines also). I'm just glad I voted by mail! Like Michigan's football season, Obama will enter the seat during a huge rebuilding season as well. But, like many of us, I have the confidence that things will get better.
- A few days ago my great Aunt Mary Jane passed away, at 90 years old. I thank God that I decided to go out with my mom and grandparents in August to meet her for the first time, at her b-day celebration. Little did I know that would be the only chance I had to see her, but I am more than happy that I did.
- So, who won the World Series this year? Wait, I did watch the last game. Mostly was too busy to pay attention to the playoffs :(
- It seems the holiday season approaches already, no matter if we're ready for it or not. I just get extremely annoyed to hear Christmas music before Thanksgiving!
- Just witnessed an exciting victory as WMU took on Illinois at Ford field. Who knew?
I just need to get though teaching my lesson this week. I'm very nervous! Along with the rest of my final assignments yet to come. These next 4 weeks are going to be the most busy of all, but somehow I'll make it through. There are so many other things I could talk about now, but lack of time...
I'll write a book in December ;)
