i should have done this months ago. and by months, i mean when i moved back home. i am coming to you live from the new computer desk that i impulsively bought today, which is funny because impulse seemed to be the word for the day. this day went nothing like i had planned, which is a good thing considering the outcomes.
my day was going to consist of going to starbucks, coming home, hanging up the heap of laundry i did yesterday, coloring my hair, and then doing pretty much nothing. instead, i was surfing the interwebs and went to staples where i came upon a computer desk that i wanted. and i was like, fuck it, i'm gonna go buy it. i then decided to rearrange my room to make preparations for a computer desk. after going to storage bin to drop of my rubbermaid container that had been sitting in the backyard under a tarp, i got the chair for which i would sit in. sometimes going to my storage bin is on par to shopping. only for free. and my own stuff. anywho. so, i had called staples to make sure that the one that i wanted was in stock (because i'm smart like that), but when i got there, the guy was like, oh, sorry, we're out of stock, no, i never received a phone call, i've been here all day. i have to stop my dad from tweaking out (because i had him with me to lift the heavy objects), because that's what my dad does. so he calls the other store, and we head there to pick it up. but before leaving, my dad gives the guy a pat on the shoulder, thanking him so much and telling him to have a nice day. 10 minutes after he almost tears this guy a new one. i almost wanted to apologize for the seemingly bipolar nature of my father, but whatever. he's just quirky. or something.
so, then, instead of trying to assemble the desk, i got a call from jason and decided that hanging out with some friends would be more fun. totally impromptu, but hey, i like to be spontaneous. all i was going to do anyways was color my hair and assemble a desk, but my hair could wait, and a desk? well, it probably would have taken forever. so instead, when i came home, the computer desk was already assembled, and the computer already set up on it. i swear it's like i live with elves sometimes. mostly i feel that way about my sister who stays up into the night making clothes, but my dad is pretty good like that too. so, here's my newest addition!
don't mind my mess of a floor. oooh!! now that i have a desk, i don't have to worry about constantly knocking over my beverage that i have with me, always on the floor next to me, and no matter where i put it, i have the tendency to knock it over. it's a talent really. a really annoying talent. but it's going to be so nice now not to have to worry about my legs falling asleep from sitting indian style, or having to stretch every ten minutes because i am hunched over the keyboard which i had to keep in my lap. super awesome.
and i totally forgot this until just now. this morning i come upstairs because my dad and i were gonna leave to go do errand-y things, and he out of no where says, "how much weight have you lost??" i was like, uh, what? i don't...know. "oh, it looks like you've lost a lot of weight." really random, first of all, from my dad, who sometimes doesn't notice when i color or cut my hair (which is ultimately more funny considering he cuts hair for a living), but to notice that i've lost weight i just think is random. i didn't think he even noticed the status of my weight, let alone to comment on it. weird.
