re: The Young Victoria
It's not often that I come across a movie that I fall completely in love with. To a point where multiple viewings in a single week become a must. I dare say, that actually hasn't happened, as I recall, since... well. WALL-E. And before that? Mulan and The Lion King. The Lord of the Rings would be included in this list if it weren't for the fact that those movies are so damn long and my time so damn inflexible at times. So when I say that I absolutely LOVE The Young Victoria, it's with the pretense that I tend to be relaxed and apathetic with a lot of the movies I've seen. I mean, a lot of them were good. Great, even. But nothing beyond that.
This movie, however, has managed to capture my heart and turn me into a heart-struck schoolgirl:
And truth be told, the fact that it's based on real life just adds to the charm of it. Because it's not some unachievable storybook fantasy that you think up in your dizziest daydreams. It actually happened. And it's a cute story, to boot!
