Tonight, at roughly 10:38 p.m. Eastern standard time, about forty minutes ago, my companion and dear friend for the past eleven years passed away. I found her on the side of the road in the rain at night, and she left me on this rainy night.
She was the only woman who ever stayed with me, the only friend who always knew I'd come back for her, the only being I truly and completely loved with all of my heart.
She died of complications arising from liver failure due possibly to either an unknown toxin or feline leukemia.
I've lost my father, both sets of grandparents, a good half-dozen close friends, and been to more than forty funerals.
