A lot.

`

So a lot has happened in the past couple days and I haven't had a chance to write about it at all, on here or in a real journal or otherwise. Luckily the person who has this time slot is out tonight and I get a full hour.

Right now my malaria meds are making me sick again. haven't done that since my first few days here. uhg. It's hot a fun feeling.

Tomorrow is my last day at placement. I am so attached to the kids. I am going to cry so hard.

Yesterday I went to a funeral. Mama Thea, the woman who owns our compound (it used to be her house), had a sister-in-law who died. A few volunteers got invited to the funeral. I went to pay my respects, but also to witness it. It was so amazing. Extremely sad, but equally if not more so beautiful. I'll update this section more later.

Today we went to Arusha to witness a UN trial for the Rwanda genocide, but apparently the defense attourney died and they've been postponed until September. But we got to actually go inside the courtroom and a woman there gave us a lot of information.

I also learned how to barter well at the Masai market. Elfu saba for a pair of earrings?? Hapana! Elfu Mbili! And I got them for 2000 shillings (less than 2 US dollars).

Said good-bye to Claire, her flight was tonight. I am really going to miss her a lot. I've met some pretty incredible people here.

I'm not ready for tomorrow at all. I want to take a gap year and stay here. I belong here. This is going to be so hard.
