I did My workout this morning and moved up in weight for my of the exercises I am doing by ten pounds, while it does not seen a lot it is and I felted it afterward, but I checked with the Coach at the gym and some of the guys I workout with and they all agreed That I could handle it, and that the weights I had been doing was becoming to easy for me ( Read more... )

When I was doing weights, I usually stepped them up in 2.5kg (5½lb) increments and found that I was pushing myself right to the limit in doing that, so I'd guess that increasing it by 10lb is probably quite a big step up. Mind you, I suppose it depends where you're starting from and which exercise you're doing.

I felt the benefit of weight-lifting as soon as I started doing it. The first thing I noticed was that it improved my posture and made me stand tall with my shoulders back without me deliberately doing it. I felt a nice tingly tension in my body, and just felt more confident and positive altogether.

How long have you been doing the weights for?

Haha! Keep on shaking what you've got. I wish I could see that! 😂

I started in 6th grade with Cheerleading but just lifting small wights that helped with what I did in cheerleader, then got into bigger weights as a senior in high school. xoxo

I put up a just me post for friends that show all my old pictures from flickr, fb and all, so you just got to go back some to see, I will be posting more old and some new like i Just did soon gain xoxo

I meant to have a scroll back through some of your old posts, but I haven't had time to do it yet. I always seem to have far more stuff to do than I can fit into each day! But I'll definitely have a look when I have a free moment.

I was just thinking last night that I should maybe buy a treadmill for when the miserable winter weather arrives and I don't want to go outside. I used to have what we call an exercise bike here (stationary cycle), but that was fart oo boring and I could never persuade myself to use it. Maybe a treadmill would be just as bad? Cycling outdoors is much less boring.

Also yes you should buy a few of them for bad days, I would say a Stationary Bike and maybe a few light weights 5 to 10 lbs to start with xoxo

I'm doing it! In a minute! 😄

I've got quite a few weights lying around in my flat. I have cast iron ones and sand-filled ones. I'd actually forgotten about them until you mentioned it. In fact, I wish I didn't have them, because they're going to be a real pain in the arse to shift if I move house! But yeah, that's a good idea. I could do curls to start with.

Take it easy to start, and use lighter weights on arm on your pacemaker side to start with xoxo

Yeah, I'll definitely have to take it easy. I'm quite anxious about doing any exercise in case I push myself too hard. I'm sure it's better to do something rather than nothing though.
