I think it's good to bring stuff like this out into the open so that other, less-stupid creators of the privileged variety don't make the same mistakes.

At first I was thinking, "Maybe she wants to give white people a feel for what it's like to be the minority?" but then as I read your post I was like, what in the hell is this woman thinking. She obviously did not do her homework before all of this happened.

yeah i kinda felt that way too but then at the same time, some shit needs to get called out. so the next time i'm on a panel at a con talking about the rampant bigotry in the spec fic genre, i wish a mofo would look at me crazy.
