Happy Birthday David Duchovny

Aug 07, 2010 14:41

Wanted to find a way to express how much I love David Duchovny on his 50th birthday, today.  Was hoping to have this posted but I wanted to express my David love today.  I haven’t loved David as long as some fans, but in the nearly two years I have, he has captivated my heart.  So Happy Birthday, David Duchovny.

It never fails to warm my heart and make me smile watching David interact with his wife Tea Leoni.  He always speaks and looks at her with so much adoration and love and it makes me love him so much more.

Anytime David is shown with his children, West and Miller or speaks about them, he always seems so proud of them.  It is so clear how much he loves them and his life would not be the same without them.  It makes me love him even more.

David’s friends seem to play a large part in his life, as well. I imagine he would be a good friend to all of them.  His bromance with Garry Shandling is epic.  It makes me love him even more.

David has hobbies like anyone, such as writing, swimming, reading and directing.  He is notably smart. Anyone who makes it up to their dissertation for their doctorate in Literature is without a doubt smart. All of this just makes me love him more.

David loves his sports.  He’s the typical man who loves sports.  Namely, basketball and baseball. He makes no secret of the fact that he loves the New York Knicks and the Yankees.  Though I am not a sports fanatic like him, it just makes me love him more.

David loves all animals, as evidenced by his Pedigree voice overs.  But, he seems to have such a fondness in his heart for his dog, Blue.  She would not have lived such a great, healthy life without the love that was given to her daily.  It just makes me love him even more.

David’s look is nothing, if unique.  The man wears sunglasses most of the time, has such as casual look that on him looks amazing, his hair changes constantly, and he has a lovable affinity for plaid.  But, it is him and makes him all the more lovable. It makes me love him even more.

David played Mulder for many, many years.  Like anyone with his work schedule, he grew tired and eventually stepped away from Mulder.  It was never that he did not love Mulder or the people her worked with, but there was a point he was ready to move on with his life.  He showed his love and affection for the character and the franchise by returning for the finale, then again for the second X-Files movie.  He expresses his desire for the third movie, as well.   His frustrations, joys and love with being Mulder make me love him even more.

David is absolutely brilliant as Hank Moody on Californication.  He could have easily been typecast after X-Files but Hank is such a brilliant, deep, funny character. He’s nothing like Mulder but has managed to become my favorite character on TV.   David recently said that Hank’s blessing and curse is his always telling the truth.  David is the only actor who has a golden globe award in both drama and comedy.  It shows on Californication.  I can be dying of laughter one minute, and my heart breaking for Hank the next minute.  It makes me love him even more.

David has such powerful eyes. His eyes are absolutely beautiful.  They are deep and can convey such a huge amount of emotion.  Happiness, sadness, anger, fear, pain can all be seen in his deep eyes. I can get lost looking at a picture that focuses on them so  much.  It makes me love him even more.

David has such a wonderful, genuine smile. Whether it’s understated, sweet, or a big smile, it makes me smile. I love his smile and just how it shows his true heart.  It makes me love him even more

Now, I am not blind.  The man turned 50 today and looks maybe 40, if that. He is absolutely sexy and has amazing abs.  His body is flawless and that’s an understatement.  There are twenty year olds who wish they had a body like his. All of these things are things that make me love him even more.  So, Happy 50th Birthday to David William Duchovny.
