Demerol = good

For the past 7 years a tooth on my bottom row in the front of my mouth has been trying to escape. The gum has been receding - albeit slowly - threatening the root of my tooth. Yesterday I had oral surgery - grafting - done. They numbed up my mouth, then cut a slice out of the roof of my mouth, and sewed it on top of where my tooth was exposed.

The process itself was very painless, and lasted much shorter than I expected. From injecting the novacaine to raising my chair up again took 20 minutes. A couple hours later, very much throbbing and pain and blood. That's when the demerol came in. The periodontist prescribed demerol instead of vicadin because it's easier on the stomach.

Now I can't drive or operate machinery, or even FLY (lame!). But at least I get to chill. Also, doing calculus is much more amusing.
