just make sure you set the privacy to a point that random bums won't comment just to flame you, not like random bums would care to visit the site anyway.

Yeah, it's not exactly a big deal to make a livejournal account but someone still shouldn't have to just because they want to comment. I'm with you on this one, Tanvir.

I don't think strong moderation would be necessary ... maybe I should clearly outline in the community info page that I will only moderate profanity-laden or slanderous comments. Do you think that's a good idea?
