Hiatus? Not me said the Rob. ;D

Hey folks~

I probably shouldn't give my absence such a grand title such as "hiatus". I just really haven't had much to say. My days are kept busy with school and folks out here. Lately I've been on a super studying kick and I've been digesting about 30 new words a day on my path to become fluent at Japanese. Though, it won't be for another month or so before I'm where I truly want to be in terms of Japanese ability.

In terms of life things are rather quiet. I have a date on Saturday night with a girl who speaks zero English so that's going to make for an interesting night. Otherwise the personal life is fairly uneventful, I'm just glad I'm nowhere near the level of crazed "single guy in Japan" that the other guys out here in Oita are at. I mean, geez, they think they're rockstars because girls out here will look their way whereas in America girls wouldn't even give them the time of day. *chuckle*

I'm thinking about meeting my friend Matt in Osaka when he returns from San Francisco. I keep telling him I want to go on a "kinky adventure" with him. (Osaka is in the Kinki Region of Japan)I'd like to get out of Oita for a bit, and since there's a ferry that's fairly cheap that'll take me directly from Oita to Osaka's port, I'm all for it.

In terms of the job front, I'm currently looking into two English teaching schools here in Japan to work for when my tenure at Oita University ends. One is only about an hour and half away from Oita. It has some nice benefits like a company car and decent pay, but it's on the very tip of the main island, so it's very isolated. The other job is in Gifu Prefecture which is located in central Japan between Tokyo and Osaka. I don't think I get a car for that job, but the location is perfect because it's in the part of Japan with the tallest mountains and is only a half an hour away from Nagoya, which is basically a miniature Tokyo.

I'll apply for graduation while in Japan and just have them mail my diploma to Japan sometime after December.

Well, that's it for now, I'll update whenever something else interesting happens.
