[ooc; Since I didn't post to the AU plotting post: Chopper comes from a universe where he was born a human...but he's retained all of his memories from his normal life, in which he was cursed with the inability to swim.]

Yeah... then again, I fell in the water by accident. I was coughing a lot afterward. [thoughtful pause.] It's nice once you get used to it, though. Swimming, I mean.

It was pretty scary, actually. But I got out alright!

[a thoughtful "hm."] Well... I thought it was pretty easy to get the hang of. But I'm not sure how hard it'd be for other people... it couldn't hurt to try, though, right?

Right! [griiiiiin] I've never been able to before, so this might be my only chance!

I ate something called a Devil Fruit, so I'm cursed to sink in water. There isn't any way to reverse it...and when I change back, I won't be able to swim again.

And Nami and Usopp, too! Sanji told me about you before, Chopper. It's really nice to actually meet you! [considers for a moment that Sanji more or less ordered him to get Chopper to look at him.... buuuuuuuut that can always come later, right? yeah totally skipping that part for now]

Heh, I guess I should thank you. Considering how much trouble they get in, they need a good doctor.

How do you know everyone?

Well... I think I met Brook when he first arrived here. It was hard to miss a big skeleton like him. Sanji spoke to me on the journals one day a long while back, and we've been friends ever since. Usopp was sort of the same, though I only met him a couple of months ago. Nami... [tilts his head.] I guess you could say we started talking to each other because of ... weird circumstances.

Everyone's just been really nice. Your crew is made up of the most amazing people.

[So he's on good terms with them, then...that's good. Chopper smiles at the last part, nodding his head.]

I'm really lucky to be sailing with them.
