Date: August 23, 1879 Time: Late Afternoon - Night Place: Chocolate Shop to the Kamiya Dojo Characters: Kaoru and Megumi Rating: An eventual naughty PG13
As Kaoru-chan and I descend upon the chocolate shop like a plague of locust the two, mysterious and beautiful women that we are (though my breasts are STILL not quite up to par!), I notice that one of the shop keepers, the very one in fact that served us the first time that Kaoru and Misao turned into the two little piggy's from the black lagoon we frequented this delightful establishment, is giving us a very frightened funny expression.
Before I can decipher what this expression means, the young lady turns round, and high tails it into the chocolate shop, a look of pure and undiluted terror marring her pretty, plumpish features.
Kaoru and I get closer to the door. I pause, hearing the sound of frantic footsteps running to and fro.
"Hurry! She's almost to the door!" I hear more sounds, something being moved from one place to another. "Hide the samples! Remember what she did last time she was in here?!? Gods, Demons and unholy urges, that sweet tooth from hell will drive us into the poor house!"
On such a hot and humid day here, is it really a crime to visit the neighborhood chocolate shop and indulge in one of the finer things in life? next to sex The people inside are making very little effort to hide that they are preparing for our visit and it certainly is not turning out to be a pleasant one if they want to purposely hide the samples!
"Don't worry Megumi-san." I calmly raise my hand. "I know how to handle this the right way." I slam the door open politely enter and scan the small shop of heavenly delights of all shapes and sizes

"Megumi-san, the sign there says there that we can sample the chocolate, and I guess that means any chocolate in the shop that we like, right?"
I'd answer Kaoru-chan, really I would, except for the teensy-weensy little detail that I am madly snarfing down delicately nibbling on a chocolate covered strawberry.
What? Don't look at me that way. I'm deprived dammit, sadly deprived for the earthy comforts that any hot blooded fox woman desires. Bereft of a certain brown eyed rooster head, unable to practice medicine or fondle microscope knobs, my summer has been a study in doing without. So, can you really blame me if, for just a little moment, I set aside my usual womanly charm and dainty manners, and lay waste upon the dark chocolate section of the shoppe sample a second bit of confectionery bliss.
Where was I again? Oh, that's right. Enjoying the company of a good friend and doing my part to help further the local economy by eating them out of house and home"Did you say you have caramel?" I say, even though I suspect that since

"Then here you go, the last ca-ra-meru." The box is held out to Megumi-san for the taking. After she does, I leave her alone for a minute to give her some privacy as she experiences this new chocolate filling for the first time. With my hands on my hips, I look around the store some more. Forget the diet that I was on! If I want chocolate, why should I deprive myself of it?
I examine the variety of chocolates on display as they come in different shapes and sizes. Mou, chocolate is not cheap, but I am sure that I will get some sort of a discount because I am a regular customer in here. When I find something of interest that I can afford, I wave the shopkeeper over.
"I would like some of these chocolate gingers, please." I point them out to her but she is looking kind of pale there kneeling on the floor. She looks like she has seen two women on a chocolate eating rampage a ghost. I don't know why she is hiding on the floor while we sample the new inventory, but hiding on the floor isn't going to help her any

"Thank you, Kaoru-chan!" I murmur, genuinely pleased and surprised at the younger woman's gift. I gave up any hope of getting my money back from the last raid time we were at this shop and am happy to see that Kaoru-chan found a delicious way to pay me back.
"Let me pay for my purchases, and then let's be off," I say as I open my purse (a darling Western beaded number that I just LOVE TO BITS) and fish out the funds that I'll need to cover one caramel, one chocolate strawberry, and four absolutely delectable dark chocolates. To this I add a bag of caramels for Sanosuke, a bag of red licorice for Misao-chan, several hard candy sugar sticks for the girls. Finally, I give into all sorts of temptation and purchase a few more dark chocolates that I will squirrel away and save for when I am so lonely for Sanosuke that I can't see straight! a rainy day

Where to now? That is a good question. Megumi-san and I leave the chocolate shop and I haven't given it any thought. I guess stocking up on chocolate wasn't enough.
"Well...." I am purposely stalling for time here as my eyes dart all around the street we are on. There has to be something we can do here! Think, Kaoru, think!
"Alcohol!" It's the first thing I blurt out for an idea. It's also what I am seeing the most of, with men carrying jugs of saké around. They must be on their way home, wanting to have it with their evening meal or bath.
It's too bad Kenshin won't be home for dinner tonight. Sigh.
"I say we get us some saké too and then we can enjoy our new purchases back at the dojo." I like that idea. Having Megumi-san around for company is way better than being home alone for the night. We might as well enjoy ourselves a little while we are at it!
