Whoa. I'm really out of the loop. Just letting you all know I'm alive.
Just got done with Midterms. *dances* What a week, what a week.
I've also been the main go-to on this recent fundraiser our diagnostic program is sponsoring. I didn't mean to get it started, really. Someone suggested a raffle for the March of Dimes, and I decided to go by a few places to ask for donations for prizes, and I actually got donations! That's really good this time of year. It's notoriously hard to get donations due to quotas of companies already having been met. But one jewelry store handed me a men's Bulova watch to raffle of. It's worth well over $100, so I was super pleased. Tomorrow, I'm going to get little things to finish off the gift baskets (Harvest, Christmas, and Tea/Coffee themes - 3 in all).
It's so strange because all of a sudden everyone is emailing me and calling me for information, and I've had to do all the legal documents for taxes and such. I even printed out the tickets. :O One busy girl. My fellow students wait for my word on everything. I just want to smack my hand to my forehead sometimes.
But since I saw a dead premature infant lying serenely by his mother's bedside last Thursday when I was sent upstairs to do a portable exam of the mother's chest, I feel that it is what I'm supposed to be doing right now. It's ironic, really, considering that this experience happened so soon after putting this fundraiser together. I can't describe it adequately with words, so I know this sounds like a wooden account, but it really had an effect on me.
