Invictus

Saw Invictus (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1057500/) on Sat night with tigerbeard, loved the film (okay, the accents slipped periodically, but I'm okay with that), as I've said elsewhere the ending was terrible ;)

A couple of things that I did note:

1) I'm not sure, had I been in Mandela's position, that I could have been prepared to move on as readily as he did (but then he is an incredible man)
2) I noticed the lack of vomiting from the All Blacks in the finals, we should be reminded about the state of most of the AB's team
3) The player they picked to be Jonah Lomu was nowhere near tall enough
4) I'm glad they only briefly touched on the complete pasting that England got in the semis by the ABs
5) At the end of the film, I quite liked Francois Pienaar. Clearly I need help.

It's a good film and builds up slowly. I did like the end credits where they showed pictures of the real people rather than the actors - I'd like to think that they wanted to show the real stars rather than the actors, but I guess I'll never know.

My parents are still here and it's been really lovely having them to stay. MMT (now that he's well over the pneumonia) is having a blast and has asked why they can't stay for another month.

Tomorrow is Australia Day, we'll be at the beach and throwing "shrimps on the barbie" :)
