TOMPKINS SCARE PARK Halloween Festival
with the "HEALTHY HALLOWEEN" communities program
Saturday, October 27th, Noon-8pm+, Rain or Shine

~ A Halloween event to inspire the world ~

Bringing together a small army of NY area artists, community groups
and artistic works from 20+ New York City high schools, Tompkins Scare
Park is a participatory arts event that promotes an important future
vision for Halloween everywhere.  In the fight against children's
obesity/ diabetes, the "Healthy Halloween" communities program
promotes 'Creativity over Candy' and 'Experience over Consumption' to
demonstrate that Halloween is not just about branded costumery or
processed sugar candy.

From a park known for artistic brilliance and social activism there
will be both.  In this international city, in a neighborhood where it
is Halloween every day, NY's most colorful people come together to
demonstrate the creative genius of NYC in this participatory theater
event where participants are urged to create, costume and commingle.
For the US and countries around the world who are now beginning to
celebrate the holiday, we demonstrate that trick-or-treat can be more
about art, healthful treats and interactive experiences giving
memories instead of products.   Halloween is the most creative holiday
and Tompkins Scare Park strives to be an example for what can be done
everywhere.
