Since I'd had little sleep and knew going back to bed wouldn't help I headed to Ft Lewis for everything. The odd part: commissary prices are higher there than the Everett station. Husband guesses its because there are less people up there (its a small building but new), more retired and Navy pays better overall. They can afford to keep their prices a bit lower since all those factors result in less days of re-stock than Lewis: they have to re-stock every shelf every night and its a huge facility. Oh well, just needed the basics anyway.
After that quick trip (unusual), I headed to the PX. Hadn't gotten the recent flyer and found they had the good dog crates on sale and I lucked out - there was one left in Ubu's size! Dels also had them on sale but not quite as cheap plus we would have had to pay tax.
Found a really nice birdbath so as soon as I get a picture of it I'll post it...they also are at least 1/3rd the price or less of most anywhere else. The only dissapointment is they aren't stocking as many pony-packs, hanging baskets or good annual color spots for the summer color around the house so I didn't pick up anything on that. They have expanded the perinnals so when the house is finished being painted outside and new gutters up I know where to get some healthy shrubs and flowering trailing vines, rhodies and the great barrier plant of Arbor Vitae. So we are heading to Flower World - a bit more expensive though they do stand by their products and its a 10 min drive from the house. I want my hanging baskets and little starts for overflowing planters in a month!
Next will be to find screen material that will hold up to the cats and make those for windows missing them. Hubby is taking the day off to help (yeah, surprised me too) so even though I *hope* to sleep in a little we can still get most all done.
Weather forecast is rain by Saturday but who knows - I've seen late May roll into weeks of sunny and warm weather. Just hope I'm right on that one.
