Hockey is heading into its playoffs,
Baseball just had its season opener.
The rivers have melted (a mixed blessing depending on your location), the ponds have thawed, and yet the Minnesota earth still sleeps. Not a crocus or daffodil in sight. Not even an inkling of a bud on a tree.
Instead, children still don their parkas (mine insist that April means 'no coats' and willfully try to sneak outside without them), snow seems determined to fall at least once a week (last Sunday), even though it melts within a couple hours.
Come on TREES!!! Wake up! That's quite enough of a lie in.
