The house renovation projects are finished. I have little loose ends to tie-up. But it's open to view and looking quite fine.
The children are seriously impressive. Yes, they do still require reminding and standing-over while they tidy up (still children after all), but they've risen to heights of cleanliness that I didn't think possible. *boggles* Molly would be SO proud.
We're still in this darn holding pattern, though. Still waiting on a tenant of any sort to sign the zarking lease papers. Still waiting on the seller's bank in Minnesota to accept our offer.
We've had plenty of people tell our agent that they love the house and want to rent it, but they don't show up to sign the lease. I suppose I should thank them for showing me their responsibility level before we form a legal obligation to each other. But all the same it's infuriating and in this economy, it's inexcusably rude. Sure financial situations change quickly, but least call.
The banks involved on the seller's end are equally infuriating. We've offered the asking price, can handle the mortgage without the sale of this house, and are pre-approved for a loan from a financially solvent bank. It's easy money - what's the hold up? They've been sitting on our offer for nearly two months. I have daydreams of striding into wood-paneled board rooms demanding signatures. Grrr.
Tired of twiddling my thumbs.
