Asch is in Tales of VS

Suck it, fanboys.

Already the onslaught of "How dare they put a character popular in Japan in a Japanese video game!" arguments are pouring forth from American gamers.

More and more, I hate this fandom.

It's not even the Luke fans, though- it's the fans who got really obnoxious after Vesperia came out and decided that everything else in the series sucks, especially Abyss. They keep whining that Asch is a "Luke clone" and a waste of a character slot, when a) although Asch and Luke draw from the same skill pool, they can still be given different skills, and b) even though they draw from the same skill pool, that pool is quite different from the skillset most of the other series' swordsmen use, and given how swordsmen heavy this game is going to be, Luke and Asch actually diversify the line-up a bit.

Plus, Leon also got announced in the same pass, and people aren't complaining about him (some of them are even happy Leon's in and mad about Asch!) Granted, he was always assumed to be a given, so it was no surprise, but that's only because he's been in EVERY crossover spin-off except ToF2, since that only used specific games (he was even in Namco x Capcom!). Until Asch has his setting's timeline altered so he can appear in a sequel AND have his personality retconned in a remake to make him more sympathetic, no one can point a finger at him without pointing two at Leon.

(As for ToE, all I have to say is "Miacis to our hearts!")
