EPIC DREAM of quest for Coffee part I.
I was living in this huge walled compound in what looked like Africa. Now when I say huge, I mean take the biggest estate you can imagine and then double it. If you were standing on one of the sandstone walls and looked towards the other side of the estate, you wouldn't be able to see it even on a clear day with no obstructions in the way to block the view. It was just huge.
It was also very old and run down. Most of the buildings were abandoned and crumbling into ruins assuming they were not already ruins. The ground was sandy and the grass was patchy and yellow from the heat, but the trees were huge. That would be my kind of huge. They went up hundreds of feet and would have been completely giraffe proof.
Now the dream starts with my mother visiting me here early in the morning. I greet her and ask her if she wants to go get coffee because there is this really good coffee shop on the other side of this huge estate. She agrees politely and we head towards my car. Since I didn't seem to actually have a place to live on this estate, it was good that I had a nice car. I was very proud of this car and I started espousing it's virtues to my mother as we walked to it.
It was a nice BMW with that classic silver blue paint job that the old ones used to have. It was in perfect condition, but as we walked towards it I could see that it had been tampered with. The door had been left just slightly open like what happens when you go to close it, but don't use enough force.
I told my mother to wait and I approached cautiously opening the door slowly while looking for anything unusual like wires. Sure enough, somebody had put a bomb under the steering wheel. As I really liked this car, I felt obliged to take a closer look to see if it was a bomb I could defuse. A normal sane person would have just let it alone, but I'm not either of those so I started pushing buttons at random. Immediately the car started and began moving forward. As I was only half in and half out of the car I was pulled off my feet and dragged. I grabbed the first thing available to hold onto which was the steering wheel and I clung on refusing to let go as I watched the little numbers on the bomb start to count down. Now with me clinging to the steering wheel, the wheel naturally turned in my direction. This caused the car to start driving in wide circles, and it was accelerating at the same time. My position was perilous. So naturally, I pushed more buttons at random. I turned on the headlights and the windshield wipers as well as the radio, but the numbers just kept ticking down. Finally I was unable to hold on any longer and I was tossed roughly to the ground as the car spun out and crashed into one of the huge trees. I waited with my head down for a few seconds but it never exploded.
So I got up and dusted myself off and asked my mom if she would like to walk to get coffee.
