Oh dear. I wish I could get the get the producers of this show - the Twu Lurve Obsessives I mean, not the other ones who know what they're doing - in a small room with a large bucket of haddock with which I could beat them repeatedly around the head. (Thats actually not as kinky as it sounds.) Eventually perhaps, they'd explain WTF they're thinking ( Read more... )

Hi Arwyn :) Ah I didnt know that they shot 4.10/11 after the finale...but as you say thats no excuse for forgetting what was in them. I agree with all you say and yeah - if theres no reveal... well I suspect we're supposed to be looking at the shiny things. The A/G Disneyfest. Excalibur. Lots of swordfights. Im sure most of the audience wont care next to that sadly.

I agree every much with what you wrote on your journal too, especially the point you make about the endless theme of Merlin manipulating Arthur for his own good. Its very true - he's always taken decisions that affect Arthur and Camelot without Arthurs knowledge and it IS getting very tired - but 4.12 made it more overt and morally dicey than ever. It made Arthur the idiot in every way - not just the enchanted simpleton but the king who everyone 'knows' is too stupid to make the obvious tactical decision and has to be taken in hand like a child. I guess that was just to get the funny bits in - they seem perfectly happy decimating characters week on week to suit some idea of the moment. And Bradley and Colin were very funny I'll give them that. Its only if you care enough about the characters to actually think about what they've done there to A and M that you get the sour taste.
