It looks as if they're going to have the Moral Compass veer well off course (*though of course it is NOT Mary Sue's fault, people!!!!*) and - Im speculating here - frame and have executed a very sympathetic character (the stable boy looks to be deliberately very sweet). This is I assume to show they're 'mature' now; in previous seasons no one would die.
So - leaving aside the fact that brainwashing shouldn't totally change someones basic character and turn plaster saints into callous, ruthless murderers overnight- does this mean there will be repercussions after the halo is refixed to the extensions? Or will it all be brushed over?
One would think the guilt of doing something like that could seriously drive someone mad? One would think this could actually give Gwen a chance at nuance... But... This is Merlin and that is Mary Sue so...

Whatever they do with Gwen, I really couldn't care less. It's not really her, therefore it's not her fault. I think she won't remember anything once the 4 episodes are done.
Speaking of things that are done. I'm one step away from abandoning this show completely.
If that's what will happen in the finalle then this entire show, every single episode of it will be for nothing. Completely pointless and the most insulting way to finish a series ever.

Well the spoilers/rumours are certainly pointing one way - to having filmed Camlann and then Avalon and then a reincarnation shot. I still cant get my head around it though - not just that they'd give such a feelbad ending at Christmas but that they'd have Arthurs reign and their destiny as basically a failure. Not only that but the Eira dialogue doesnt mention an army and Gwaine is still in Camelot. And how does Mordred go from trainee knight to leading an anrmy against Arthur in a couple of episodes?
Im not saying they wont do it - but is it possible they have Merlin see the whole thing - Camlann and Avalon - in the cave thus the audience get to see what happens to Arthur, but the actual ending of the show is happy - then they do their final twist of Merlin in modern times waiting? Again I sincerely hope he's not an ancient hobo whichever way they go (how can he be immortal and get so old?). This is me being pollyanna and as you know Im about as far from a fan of Shine as its possible to get but even I doubt they'd fuck up their entire 5 seasons with a straightforward battle, death, Avalon thing after 3 years and no Albion or magic. But Im probably very wrong
