hey Thien :) Yeah I agree- it did feel as if whole chunks were missing. I didn't see Evil Merlin spoilers but probably just as well because what we got - a 2 second roar (though very sexy) wasn't quite Evil Merlin. It was the worst anyone did to Gwen though - the other apparitions just sort of guffawed a lot. There wasn't anything about her worst fears - just lots of screaming and chortling loved ones. It just didn't feel extreme enough to break anyone for long.

Angela and Katie did fine yeah - but I don't think Katie knows herself what Morgana is thinking at when she hugged Gwen and did the Big Cloaks Forest Meeting (TM) and though Angel had some moments of selling real fear- I just wasn't convinced by the end in the slightest that a few days of that would have turned her against Camelot AND turned her into an assassin. Seriously? The Moral Compass?

I liked Elyan - or rather i liked the Ade but he never got much chance to show what he can do, and his death, wildly signalled as it was, was bizarrely unemotional. I dont know why - it should have been a lovely moment but it just felt a bit daft - a WHAT was the point of that moment. I STILL dont know why Gwen is now embracing her brothers murderer. Did they even try to think it out? The only way it'd fit (kind of) is if Gwen's enchanted but they spent a whole episode showing she was being brainwashed. Just...ridiculous.

There was no continuity with 5.05 because this is part of a filler arc. So... I think I saw Mordred in next weeks trailer but will he just be a bystander or will they actually use him to develop what they're doing with him? Im torn on that - I don't particularly want more gruesomely heavy handed Mordred Lurve but at the same time I wan them to actually give some depth to Mordred's development as it affects Merlin and Arthur. But Ive seen no mentions in previews so
