With the aid of google calendar, I have reviewed the past year of 2008 and here it is for those of you interested:
I will probably post this up on blogspot too since most of my readers have migrated there

The Good:
- The Dresden Dolls concert and the awesome awkwardness between Kyle and me.
- Working at Hewitt… if there’s good in that beyond the crummy guys who asked me out and I rejected.
- Entering my last semester as an Undergraduate at UIUC ever.
- Continuing my Undergraduate Research Project (and over time it got easier and easier :)
- Spending my Spring Break in Alabama visiting my cousin and her family.
- Meeting Brian Borger.
- Finding out that not all guys are made of crumminess.
- Driving to Omaha, Nebraska for my friend Ashley’s birthday for a weekend.
- Driving back to Urbana, IL fast enough to make it to a Teams Meeting where I lost all my guts in.
- Passing all my classes and graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Sciences. And the 5 moving trucks that helped to move all my stuff out of Champaign beforehand. :)
- Getting that B in Physics 2. And the A on my 5 hour credit Undergraduate Research Project with Dr. Fahey that didn’t kill me in the end. :)
- My wonderful motivation right after graduating that landed me two jobs, a visit to the doctor, dentist, and an oil change.
- Going to Kay’s and picking up Barley, the best thing to happen to me this year other than the graduating thing. Cutest puppy ever. Of course I’m biased though.
- My graduation party… ballin’ … even Ashley came! Holla. :)
- Barley’s 1st visit to the vet that led me to apply to the animal hospital that ended up being my main job. :)
- Quiting Banfield after 3 shifts… that was the best day because I also started at Wheeling Animal Hospital the same day.
- Working with Jenny P the original before she quit… fond memories of Wheeling Animal Hospital do indeed exist.
- Summer: Brookfield Zoo, Great America, Visiting Hewitt, Chinatown, Puppy training class, the party I threw for Joyce, Visiting friends at UIUC (and taking Barley with me!), Ignite Chicago, Lollapalooza, Jenny P’s 30th Birthday Party, watching Barley’s SX, Work party at arlington racetrack, visiting Galena, IL, etc.
- Taking Physics 1 at Harper and getting a hard-earned B in it (to make it even with the Physics 2 grade :)
- Joining Connect at Harvest and meeting a bunch of awesome people.
- Meeting Vesko Ignatov, and all the drama between us from day one to now, but coming to the good realization that it’s best if we’re just friends forever.
- Applying to 13 vet schools. Hopefully this remains a good thing haha!
- Visiting Chambana again, hung out with different friends that time haha.
- Visiting Alabama, both my cousin and her family and Tuskegee University’s Vet School (looks very promising)
- Living at Donna and Ed’s over Thanksgiving week and taking care of their kitties. :)
- Parents being gone in Florida for 2.5 weeks… haha.
- Getting to see and meet Candace Cameron (DJ Tanner from Full House and Kirk Cameron’s sister) and listen to her amazing testimony.
- The 10 days when Brenda was in Mexico.
- Thanksgiving. Christmas. New Year’s. All of them were amazing, I love seeing family and friends galore. And all the parties (4 of them were at our house alone, and then I went to like at least 5 others elsewhere).
The Bad:
- Losing all faith in guys and thinking they are crum.
- Crying over Kyle.
- The sudden and sad lost of Helga Stawski, one of the best people I’ve ever met.
- My mom’s diagnosis of breast cancer.
- Going through tons of internships at zoos and the like only to find myself stuck at home for the summer.
- My brother going crazy and getting really sick where the police showed up and took him to the ER and then he had to stay at Alexian brothers where they put him on new medication without even warning/asking us and the new medication just f’ed him up more. Yay mental doctors suck ass.
- My mom’s surgery to remove her right breast and about 16 lymph nodes and all of the problems it has caused her.
- My grandma facing a few too many health problems, from a very upset stomach for a few weeks to falling and cracking a bone in her wrist to a very hurt back.
- My job going from wonderful, perfect, the best animal hospital ever to the worse place to be, hell on earth, and all they care about is money.
- $10.50 an hour … enough said.
- Out of the 13 vet schools, being rejected by 3 already (it’s ok there’s 10 more to go…)
- My mom finding out that the surgeon really messed up on her and she may need more surgery to fix it! Yay!!! (/sarcasm)
- Brenda and her goal to ruin my life and torture me while doing so.
- Dr. Roberts and his wife and their fixation on money and their oblivion when it comes to reviewing me and giving me a raise despite all my hard work and sacrifices.
The Ugly:
None.
New Year’s Resolutions:
- Grow in my relationship with Jesus through reading His word more often and reflecting on it.
- Say goodbye to the devil and embrace God.
- Go on a date or two (like real ones not fake ones where even though the guy pays for everything he insists that he just wants to be friends)
- Maintain my friendships with Ashley, Kristyn, and Joyce, no matter where we all end up.
- Meet some new people, make some new friends. :)
- Even though I’m at my ideal weight, I would like to still lose a few more pounds and get my game on. More exercise, less fatty foods, etc.
- Eat better. Like for real. And eat more than one and a half meals a day. (Closer to three preferably).
- Drink better. Like more than once or twice a day. Haha. It’s sad but true.
- Figure out what I wanna do with my hair and stick with it. (Ha!)
- Get into Vet school, move to Alabama, etc. Maybe this is more like a dream of mine, but we will see what happens. :)
