One of our platforms is missing.

Central Station has been pretty well shut since the holidays started. Trains won't start running from the main level until tomorrow. The low level platforms are open, though, and I went through then tonight. I was very surprised to get off my train and see that they were platforms 16 and 17. Yes, that's what they say. Don't see why changing the platform numbering makes the airport link any easier.

Aww. I liked Platform 11A. (Except when I was running late for a train leaving from it, of course.)

I think that calling it Platform 12 won't improve that in any way. :)

Last time I flew through EDI, I happened to notice that there was no gate 13. Airside, though, the stand numbering goes 12, 13, 14 most nonchalantly...

I have had to use 11a occasionally. It is a pain, especially when they don't give a lot of notice platforming the train.
