I slept late today. Got up, futzed about. Finally ate breakfast at about noon. I watched sunday's coverage of the Tour. Took a shower and then proceeded to nap again for several hours.
My mom was taking her cat into the vet, so I walked over there. It looked like it had rained, so I grabbed my rain coat, just in case. The vet is next door to work so only a block away. I basically just walked in to the exam room. Jaz was NOT a happy kitty. She growled for the whole time. When the vet came it she growled some more. They she went nutso when they took her back for a urine sample.
Seems my vet is moving to PA sometime soon and sold the vet office to another couple. They are both vets, so we'll see how the service is. Dr. Jean was so damn good, she was very gentle and knowledgeable. Oh well, life goes on.
After mom was done with the vet (they are treating her for a urinary track infection), I went next door to visit Sandi. It was POURING. I stayed only a few minutes. Started hailing on the way home. About the size of skittles candies. Damn shit hurts when it conks you in the head.
I got home wet, my shoes especially. I put my quiddich shirt on and came to play on the computer. The kitty hopped up into my lap, where she is still.
I was pretty honored to get a message from Nick already. Hell I just wrote him last night. He's still in Mexico. Kathryn is on her way to the embassy in Mexico City (they have to approve her travel plans, like a corpse needs an itinerary). This is what he writes: "According to her wishes, if all goes well, she will go into the ground in a tropical cedar coffin from Palenque loaded with Mesoamerican artifacts (although I probably can't persuade them to cover her with hematite)." That sounds so damn cool. He feels her spirit with him now and is comforted by that. They have the burial planned for Aug 5 in Gloucester, Virginia. I just can't do that one. I can't find airfare cheap enough. And I don't think I know anyone in VA I can stay with. I'm not good on my southeast atlantic coast geography.
