Bunny Day

We don't really celebrate religious holidays anymore. Dad actually goes to church (well Quaker services anyhow) occasionally, depending who is leading the service.

Today consisted of me trying to clean while trying not to watch DW. I did manage to clean enough for my family. What can I say, we're slobs.

Mom and Clarke showed up about 10am. I scrabbled some eggs and we had sweet rolls. Then mom crashed in my recliner. And watched bowling on ESPN. It was outside. Seriously. OUTSIDE. I think it was it was SixFlags. Weirdness. Then I went and cleaned up the kitchen a bit more and Mom had switched to HGTV.

Clarke and I then went to put together my new kettle grill. Holy buckets but it looked huge in the box. We got it all put together, right about the time Dad made it over. I got the coals started, while they all chatted.

Lesson one with new grill. USE MORE COALS. Unfortunately Whole Foods only had one small bag of hardwood charcoal. And the bag I already had bunches of wee little bits of coals. Bigger grill, need more coals. I might have to do with kingsford for a while.

But I got the steaks on and as well as some onions. Dad was nice enough to scrub the potatoes. God bless microwaved baked potatoes. We just had the onions, potatoes, salad and steak for dinner. It was very pleasant.

After dinner, we played a bit of Wii bowling. Everyone had a good time. Even the cat. Sasha was laying on the carpet, a foot's breadth away from being stepped on the whole time.

They all left about 4:30 and I crashed until about 8pm. I had the laptop on my lap and would wake up occasionally, check on my Pokey pet, fall back asleep. Exciting times.

Mom called me about 8:30. She needed me to help her drop off her truck at the service station. I couldn't find my keys. They were still attached to my jeans. But I got back about 9:30.

But everyone left with chocolate. I spent WAY too much at Abdallah (local chocolatier) last week. Oh well. I got some haystacks and alligators (think pecan turtles). Mom got us all small solid bunnies, and Dad brought some Pot 'o Gold for Clarke and I, Mom got a bucket of starlight mints.

We didn't even touch the cream puffs in the freezer.

My supper consisted of Cinnamon Life and an easter cupcake for dessert. ::grin:: But I have a fairly clean apartment and it's very nice to be able to sit on my tushy for a few hours without guilt.
