Last week? You sure it wasn't last month?

Time is getting away from me here.

Let's see, on the Fourth I went over to Mom's place. I grilled hamburgers for us. Then the guys from Clarke's group home come over for dessert and fireworks. Mom made gingerbread. The fireworks were better than last year.

I'm really worried about Mom. She bearly made it down to the bridge. Her RA is really bad. She had to get a wheelchair parking paddle, mostly so she didn't have to park in the dingleberries at work. The heatwave we're going through right now is just horrid for her. Me too in fact. But I just walk slower (if that's possible).

Thursday mom had tickets to go see kd lang and Lyle Lovett. So I went along with her. Lang was awesome. Lovett was kinda boring. I wouldn't mind seeing lang in concert again.

Friday I got my hair cut. And I finished Dad's christmas present (a belt). I had tired to lighten the color, but I just couldn't. So I went over to his place with flowers and his present. He was out of town all week, so I thought I'd leave it on his counter. My god it was 92 in his loft at 9pm. He was coming back on Saturday, so I turned on the a/c for him. Then I went back home and made food for game night on Saturday.

Saturday started off with le Tour de France. Sandi and I had fun watching it in snippets during the morning. The heat had really started getting to me. I had to go home after work and take a shower. Then I went to game night and lasted about two hours. They didn't have central air, and one little window a/c wasn't keeping up with all us windbags. I ran over to Angie's. She had called to invite me over to watch the BSG miniseries. We had a good time chatting (had some pie). Alex thinks they need BSG Legos. ::grin:: Alex and I are kindred spirits.

Oh and Dad called me as I was leaving for game night. He found my gift. I made him cry. The belt had a roman numeral 25, to commemorate his 25 years of sobriety. Chickie very proud of her daddy. Apparently his first though when he got it was "oh shit, I left the a/c on all week, my electric bill is going to be through the roof." Bwahah.

Sunday I dyed my hair and then Mom and I went to see Ratatouille. It was very amusing (especially "Lifted"). But I was in the throws of a migraine extraordinaire. (Am I the only one who thinks movies today are just too damn loud. It's like they have them set for the volume of a theater in Buenos Aires, where they talk back to the screen.) I spent most of the afternoon, either clutching my head or grunting from the nausea. Mom took me to Baker's Square as I wasn't in the mood for much more than a french dip sandwich. I felt a litle better.

Today I'm still crappy. I managed to go out to Stormcloud to pick up some DayQuil I had stashed there (for some reason I usually need it at work). I took that and headed up to the AAA store to get maps for my trip with dad. Damn that's only next week. !?!?!

I came home thinking longingly of a dark, cool house. Only to find my landlord on his Bobcat, tearing up my backyard. ::groan:: So much for my migraine. He wasn't around long, or I just slept through it anyhow. He's ripping up the ground by the old fence post. Maybe he'll be putting up another privacy fence. Also he dug up the stump next to my door. I'm happy to see that gone, it was just food for bugs at this point. Perhaps he'll reset my bricks.

This week is going to be busy. TDF all week. Plus, Wednesday is Harry Potter 5 movie at IMAX with Angie and Alex (et al). Saturday I'm going to see the movie again with Sandi and Jim. Pizza and HP, it's tradition! I have to decide what to pack for the trip. Get munchies. Need munchies on a road trip.
