This is an epic fantasy story written by Robin Hobb. It spans over three trilogies, a total of 9 books, all these are good solid reads. All the books have adventure, mystery and dragons.
The Fareseer Triloggy
Assassin's Apprentice
Follows a child Called Fitz and is his story of how he grows up in a world of royalty but is an outcast himself. It follows his transition from being a boy to being trained as an assassin.
Royal Assassin
Fitz is lead on a great adventure having faced great hardships on the way, we follow him as he matures and grows up to be a teen. He is asked to do many tasks some beyond what a normal child would ever have to do.
Assassin's Quest
Fitz is a young adult and he is lead on a far reaching adventure to go save his King and his Kingdom. In the process he has to choose between his love and his duty to his king.
The Liveship Traders
This trilogy moves away from Fitz, but it is still key to read the books in order as they will allow you to piece the story together better, and make you smile at things that come later. It also helps with events that happen in the Tawny Man Trilogy (Almost like the back history to Tawny Man trilogy)
Ship of magic
This story is told from many different angles, they all fit together to tell the bigger story and its always interesting to see the points when the main characters criss-cross each others paths. The story has a mixture of merchants, priest boys, pirates and traders.
The Mad ship
The story continues with the development of dragons, serpents and talking ships. Making this one imaginative story. This is a battle between trying to raise dragons again but they also have war and battles raging at their own doorsteps. Nothings ever easy.
Ship of Destiny
We see how the characters have changed and developed from the start. Its a great finish to the trology. This series could be read on its own but its great when read as part of the 9 books.
The Tawny Man
We are back to Fitz and the fool, Childhood friends and how their lives are inter-twined as prophet and his catalyst.
Fools Errand
We are reintroduced into their world and we encounter how they have lived since we last saw them. Fitz has turned into a reclusive. But the he is pulled out of this situation as he is needed to save the Prince.
The Golden Fool
The prince is engaged to a princess over seas this is to cement the end of the war and build new bridges. there is a lot of intrigue surounding the new arrivals. Not only this but there is an uproar at home which they are trying to get to the bottom of. The princess challenges the prince to go slay the dragon under the ice.
Fool's Fate
They travel to the princess's country and start their adventure to go slay the dragon. In the process they understand a lot more of the princess' culture. The prince and Fitz end up freeing the dragon and in the process change everything as they know it.
