Intermission: A dip back to the DMC universe

Sep 21, 2007 14:44

Was informed of the newly revamped DMC4 Japanese site.

A almost-Christmas-y choir song greets you upon entering, and the new layout juuuust plain oozes coolness - click on any link, and a cool gothic board slids down with the PS2-DMC3-Select sound.

Except the show-off Nero =.=.

BUT I still liked the new updates :)

1) Lady and Trish's BACK!!! (hopefully to kick Nero's A$$ and not Dante's XP)
And the ladies...are looking, uh, fine, if you'll excuse the slightly excessive cleavage exposure. *swt* Lady's got her big wicked Kalina Ann but now dresses with lagi super-short shorts, and she's now all in white...and dons a stupidly cool sunglasses (I want!!)

Trish...looked slightly older but definitely more refined than she was in DMC1. Still wears her trademark clothes (leather corset and tight pants) with her twin guns of doom, but now her clothes spots more gothic-inspired details. She still wears that neckband...and well, her mid-riff's still bare, as I can see.

2) Who's that Nooj-wannabe and LeBlanc clone? =.=
It was this 2 new peeps (which I bet are villains) that got me slightly miffed.

Agnus looked a bit like Nooj (FFX2)- half-dangling brown ponytail up front with monocle. ONLY, this guy's face fatter/broader. And looks definitely much more evil. Looked like a general (evil).

Gloria looked a bit like LeBlanc (FFX2) - no, not the hair, nor the skin colour, but her CLOTHES - super-revealing dress with straps keeping the cloth together up front on the anterior region and thighs. Looked like a liutenant (and probably to partner Agnus the evil general).

The other bad guy is Credo - and that evil goatee itself spells pure EVIL. Also looked like a general....I'm thinking this guy's the leader, and both Agnus and Gloria are his posse (y'know, like Seifer and his posse Fujin and Raijin?)

3) Is it just me or...
...the Capcom peeps are starting to make all* the ladies in the game a little bit bordering to the seducing side @ uber femme fatale? What's up with the suddenly-super-revealing clothes, big boobage, exposed slim thighs and more exposure of the female parts that're deemed delicious eye-candy to the male audience?

*with the exception of Kyrie, a nun-ish choirgal guarding the cathedral in Fortuna.

...oh WAIT. I cleanly forgot. DMC is a MALE game, therefore to target the MALE audience, you need to put some pretty chicks in - DMC1's still okay with Trish, but DMC2 failed because no one likes Lucia, but we don't care about DMC3 for we have Vergil (hint hint?).

...and with the insane immense detail that the PS3 can project out, I bet DMC4's gonna be played by every male PS3 gamer, and the reason's NOT for Dante. Or Nero, for that matter.

Nuh-uh, the male counterpart plays purely for the in-game chicks, while we female counterpart plays just to watch Dante kick Nero into the next universe...(or maybe it's only me.)

4) "But what about Dante?" you ask.
Nothing new on him - we all know he'll be in the game to beat up Nero (I shall relish giving out the punishment to that new brat on the block), he'll have all his moves from DMC3 right in DMC4 (and that, is PURE GOODNESS XD), he'll still be able to hammer serious damage with Rebellion and his twin guns Ebony and Ivory.

Only it seem that, his creator decided to give him a new wicked weapon called the Gilgamesh.

THAT looked like it's a re-modified-and-upgraded version of Ifrit (DMC1) or either Beowulf (DMC3). But remodified or not, Gilgamesh looks UBER-COOOOOL....*resists the urge to stroke the weapon*

5) And a nice eye-candy view of the world of DMC4.
On the main page, look for that revolving Red Orb (some red gem with a face on it) at the bottom right of the page to check out the preview of how the world of DMC4 looks like. Using some sophisticated Flash/Javascript that I've never come across, you can actually "take a tour" around this garden-in-front-of-the-cathedral, and salivate over the gorgeous detail of well...everything - the gates, the columns, the Gothic church, the thingy at the distance that looked like the evil people's HQ, the glorious skyscape, the reflections, the DETAILS!!!!

...YEAP, THAT is how it's gonna turn out on the PS3 when DMC4 get released.

Take note though, this new online-world-preview feature eats memory, as my laptop tells me with a warning, so don't run any heavy programs while checking this out. (or maybe because of their background music...)

6) Any last words?
shirou_ohsakura sent me a mail about the new Vergil figurine.

One word: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

One expression: X3

And one reason: He's got the SWORD OF SPARDA!!!
And an unsheathable Yamato!!!

Other reasons: The details on his coat is enough of an overkill. There's 2 heads for him - one is his normal, swept-up sort, and the other is the wet-and-down hair that made him looked like Dante when he's fighting under the rain/got a workout from slaying demons.

...Now if the Revoltech people don't make a Revoltech Vergil anytime soon, all the Vergil-fan-peeps are gonna hunt THIS precious piece down.

...but then again, if this figurine and Dante's are selling like hotshots, the odds of getting Sparda himself is quite good. There IS a model figurine of Sparda, but only in his demon form (and due to being made like, 5+ years back, the paintwork and design wasn't so nice like figurines now).

...but I'm still searching for a Crusnik model. Abel, specifically. Cain, if there ever is one(Cain is ALMOST LIKE SAFER SEPHIROTH WITH HIS SIX WINGS OMGDIES)

And other than that, the day moves on, I'm not done with any homework for the day, and there was a miscalculation of marks for my BusinessPresentation exam, of which I have duly noted Pinky for.

And now, for a little bit of killing. As the peeps on my flist will know when they see what my MSNlabel states.

*speaks softly*
"Igne Natura Renovatur Integra...By flames the earth shall be reborn."

...and what a perfect start.
