Crappy movies for 2005...hope they'll be something better this year =.=
Ain't done nothing much so far except to watch HP:TGoF this morning - hey, I know, I'm being sloooow, but bear with me, 'kay? At least it's deemed watchable compared to that dumb flick of Chen Kaige's 'The Promise' where the storyline is absolutely terrible and the CG-ing is bad =.= How SHINY can a bison's horns be, dude?
Too bad, I'm rooting for the bad guy, the Duke guy, even though he's merciless. And Kunlun the slave reminds me too many times of Vincent...with that long hair and red cape, he did almost looked like Valentine, except the face ruined it all =.=
Back to HP...the movie I got was a bit blur (duh, curi-ed from the cinema, you can see people's heads bobbing near the end) and the sounds are horridly unclear, but at least I know 75% of what's happening. And this, is what I have to say:
The dragon fight is awesome, the Merpeople is freaky, Viktor Krum is a cheating bad-ass, and Potter gets less dialogue compared to the book =.=
Snape loses more screen time, Dumbledore is OOC, the Quidditch World Cup is NOTHING, and Voldie is bald...? And noseless...? o.O
Ron's dress robe is...very grandmotherly (poor sod), Cedric is a kiasu, Cho Chang's actress is stiff, and there's no mention of the Firebolt being from Sirius...
And in the maze, Harry did not even face a single obstacle. How BORING can it get...I've been looking forward to the part where the Sphinx question Harry, but to my disappointment, they also threw that out =.= Sad, sad, sad...
And when you get cut, Harry, you do not shout in pain - you SCREAM in UTMOST AGONY, boy. =.=
This late ranting aside...the CG is not bad, but they'd omit so many nice parts in the book. Ah well, it's already 2 hours++, they can't add more...
Still, I would say 'The Promise' is not worth the watch. AT ALL. =.=
The lead female is absolutely bitchy and slutty, almost all the important male characters are SO gay, the Duke guy is absolutely good if not overly too cruel (and eccentric), the slave can't speak proper Mandarin in the beginning but outta the blue spoke so fluent in the end, the General guy is a useless idiot like generic emperors, the freaky goddess who gave out all this weird promises is freaky, insane, and yeap freaky, the CG works in here is TERRIBLE, and yeap, the storyline ABSOLUTELY sucks.
Gimme any other Chinese flick any other day.
That aside...I feel the urge to watch FF7AC again. But maybe another time...
And for the moment...to continue the figure-sketching...
