Last Monday, with the lecturer dismissing us early again, and with nothing else to do, Chris and I decide to do something that no other TOA students have ever done before.

Hacking Breaking and entering the print room >D ( Read more... )

I think the "workhorses" might actually be the batik space. The bloody spikes keep the fabric in place while pulling it taut. So then you paint on the fabric in air, not on nice table at the back XD;

TOA's sinks are always..... colourful. I have no idea what students do to them XD; I guess this one just got a lot worse because fabric dye is hard to wash off stainless steel?

Heh, if Con's printmaking classes take off, maybe she can put in the request for roller equipment XD;

Hope you don't mind the critique, but the hands on two of the kids kinda creep me out, have you already made the print or isit still fixable? I rather like the style, it's cool that you can grasp it so fast XD;

Good luck with this class!

Yup, this week when the lecturer finally officially brought us up to the place, she told us it's for the batik XD;

More like...TOA wansta cut cost - hence concrete sink =w=; and anything requiring roller power, they probably wanna encourage us to use alternative (renewable) energy @ MANPOWAAARRR to do the job instead =w=;;; (TOA, you stink XP)

Have fixed the design! 8D Cons told me about the hands too XD; Have given the boys proper hands, corrected the perspective too, and threw out minuscule details that cannot be cut by the tools *^__^* Will post the finished lino-cut soon! ^_______^

(I'm gonna need all the luck I can to avoid mistakes on the one and only lino~~~~)

Yeap..when the lecturer officially brought us up to the print room, she's told us what it's for XD; (unfortunately, she hadn't told us HOW to use it =w=;;;)

Methinks TOA wansta cut cost - hence the concrete sink =w=; and anything else requiring roller power, TOA prolly wants to encourage us students to use alternative (renewable!) energy @ MANPOWAAARR to do the job instead =w=; (TOA, you stink XP)

Haha, I welcome all critiques - to improve, desu :D Have given the boys proper hands, corrected the perspective and human proportion, and threw out the minuscule details that can't be cut by the tools XD; Will post the finished lino-cut soon! ^________^ And thanks for the feedback! :D

(I'll need all the luck I can to avoid mistakes on our one and only lino!~~~)

They might pay, but they pay damn little lor =w=;; (kiamsiap TOA!!~)

This week's class, she finally brought us to the print room - and the dark room too. Turns out, they have these tinny 4 red-coloured light bulbs on the wall - and 4 niches with a lightbox table (um, with 4 fluorescent light tubes only =w=;;;). At least they got hairdryer...and bricks to tahan the thingy.

But WTH...she say print your design on normal paper and apply cooking oil on it, then lapik onto the silkscreen woh. LAGI HEBAT, she say do the exposure for 5 minutes =w=;;; (what really happens if overexposure? means the thing will not appear at all?)

And...lecturer's the only one holding the keys to all rooms =w=;;; And she'll only bukak the print room on Mondays and Fridays when she got class woh!! Means we might probably fight with other groups for usage...and chances of sabotage(s)'s gonna be high. NOOOoooooo~~~

(that's why, I'll need all the luck I can...)
