1 Week Hiastus | Going Home

Jul 21, 2009 04:54

As title says so.

It's 5 minutes to 5am now, and today's the day I leave Hatfield for good.

Will be gone to Aunt's place @ Colchester, Essex for 1 week, before coming back to Malaysia - I'll be leaving Heathrow on the 28th by noon (well, the night flights for that date were fully booked ;_;) and be home on Malaysian soil on the 29 July 2009, touching down at KLIA at 7:25am.

In the mean time...

...gonna say hi to her "residents", and hopefully the "family" at Uncle's place will treat me nice.

(No seriously. I don't know what's wrong with them, but they sure have the knack to pick places with "people". Uncle's restaurant-house is 300-bleedin-years-old, and the "residents" are always up to no good, if not solemly freaking out guests who can "see" them - he's had people tellin' him that, and he's already used to it. After my last apparent tiff with some ol' saints back at Ireland, I ain't headin' to his place to see another bunch...for my consolation, at the very least, Aunt's "residents" are nicer people.)

And because Aunt is Scrooge's sister, I will be Internet-less for a week - unless I managed to sneak off to the nearest Starbucks in town to go Wi-Fi for as long as I could. It's either that, or it's to use the library's service - though it's only free for the first 2 hours.

But at any rate, if I don't update in 1 weeks' time, doesn't mean I've gone missing or anything :)

In the mean time, I'll repack most of my things and ship them back to Malaysia - including my mecha-beast of a desktop system.

For now, I'm done packing with everything. Just left with the kitchen stuff and my computer.

Yesterday Monday - I've said my goodbyes to 2 of my closest mates in the UK.

I never knew [goodbye] is the hardest word to say.

Coz even though I'll be back in Malaysia, I am not sure when I'll be coming back to the UK - my second home. Rather, it feels more home here than back home.

I had an inkling that when I returned to Malaysia, I'll get homesick of the UK - instead of the other way round.

I'll miss the tranquility of St Albans - the last drink at Mokoko Bar with dear Katya is the last memory I had of the quaint little town. I dearly love its cathedral, and even more its grounds and the Verulamium Gardens.

I'll NOT miss Hatfield that much - dead town it was - but I'll miss Rainbow @ the Chinese restaurant. Thanks for all the lovely meals.

I'll miss all my London haunts.

I'll miss Westminster, Leicester Square, and that damnable Kensington, even.

I'll miss the whole of London Southbank that has been my home for the past 10 months wherever I hit London.

I'll miss the bridges. Most of all, the iconic Tower Bridge - pride of the English, though her own people never saw and understood her beauty and history.

I'll miss London. Terribly.

And when I leave the UK, I'll miss England. Even more.

Ah well.

If Fate is kind, there'll be a chance I'll return someday.

But I will DEFINITELY find a way to come back.

It's home. After all.

For now, I don't wanna start missing this place again.

I already almost cried in public upon watching the Tower Bridge one last time.

-----------------

Well.

Malaysia ain't that bad.

I've got my good friends (that's you, reading this! :D) waiting for me.

I've got Comics Fiesta waiting for me :DDD (Zails would like to say Greetings from the UK!)

I've got TOA waiting for me.

I've got my life's dream waiting for me.

I do know one thing that

when I return to my family

Things will never be the same again.

Mom will probably understand.

But the old man's got to start to get used to it >]

I've made my mind clear to them.

If they can't respect it, I have no quarrels.

90/10. Knowing Dad's attitude, his temper flares will kill him FIRST before my depression kills me. Heheh, it's easy, really. Once I thought of that, life becomes much easier to handle now - since it pretty much worked when I had to deal with nasty people here in the UK.

Katya - is right. She always is.
She taught me the lesson I've strove hard to learn - and her advice really works.
And now I'm putting it to good use.
For an easier life ahead, I owe her one :D

Now, it's 5.30am.

By 10am, I'll be taking apart the system.

Till we meet again, if not in the next few days, then back in Malaysia, minna-san :)
