some time later... after they all thought she may have disappeared..

longest time away from posting updates.. ever. i've been a bit frightened of internet communique as of late, or rather since july. sometimes we all can't communicate well through words on a screen, and it breaks my heart. anyhoo. i'm massively due for an update!

first installment:
june-july: mega USA trip!
i'm posting only a few pictures up here, for full albums of fun go to my picture page and follow the "new" tags. :)

-two days in San Fransisco, during the pride weekend. i *love* this city. i think i may live there (if i could afford it) in the future.

my friend chris linder was amazing as well, he not only let me stay at his funny artsy flat, but he took me many many places including an all-out speedy motorcycle tour of san fran. thank you chris!!! it wouldn't have been the same without you!

china town.

morris dancers in the parade pierce the bells through their arms!! *salute*

we instantly bonded.

the pier

got to hang out with tha' kitty... we are afraid of an invisible force here. little did me know, that moments later a random thug would want to attack us! ahhh, america.

-then to chicago, for the 4th of july etc.

we had a 'welcome home me' party, look how surprised (and maybe drunk by that point) i am!

sprite and sally had just given birth to echo, and it was delightful to see all three of them.

got to hang out at a kinetic and a seizure club night, see all the old peoples. i really did miss chicago, it felt a little like i never left.

on 4th of july...

is that building exploding? with all of the random little fireworks going off everywhere, it sounded and LOOKED like a battle zone in my old neighborhood.

so, we played 'war on terror'

another highlight would have to be a visit to my old aerial dance troupe. they have now gained their own private practice space, which i spent much time in learning valuable ways to procure new forms of rope burn. :D
shayna swanson and i also spent some time putting together my very own trapeze. ahhhhhh.

i performed with a number of other special carnies at a post-4th bbq. i was so hung over, i'm not really sure how i made it through those hours...

my gir slippers helped me a bit.

most amazingly, i was there for the full moon fire jam.

there i am, fire spinning my lil' heart out. i've now spun in two countries... rock.

it's been so long, but i never really got to send out a massive thank you to all the people in chicago who made that trip so special. thanks you so much, i love you all.

next was my trip to pittsburgh. i can say that this was the best time i have ever spent in my home town... i did all the little things that are good and pure and silly.

like, saw a chinese acrobatic troupe:

flew high, amusement park fun!

plus, i love rollercoasters that feel like they are about to fall apart... it's really the only way to go.

i spent a good deal of time in my mom's whirlpool, dueling with rubber duckies. also, some much needed friend catching-up.

some people from chiacgo might remember sleep...

he liked that little koala i gave him.

ont he last day, finished my trapeze, to be taken with me back to australia.

i really look back on my entire trip with fondness. even if some things seem to have changed since i've gone, it was a wonderful reminder of where i come from and how i can still relate to all of it.

thanks usa!!
