birthday wishing

As usual, arguing with parents (mom in particular) everyday. No surprise there. Topics go through revolving doors and come back up again. Today, it was us three vs. her about enjoying life vs. not enjoying life. She harped on us for sleeping past midnite, dad said that past-midnite is the only time he'll get peace and quiet because during the day, my mom asks him things every five minutes (oh, so we can relate!).

Obviously, she says it's not healthy to sleep so late, and we'll die early. We say we want to enjoy life as much as we can, and she says, if she takes away all our money, let's see if we can enjoy life on the streets. Doh. She tells us not to work then and be poor, but we say if we don't work, how can we have money to spend to enjoy life? Doh. Goes round and round and round. She says not many people enjoy life so don't compare lifestyles with those who do. She says it's more important to live longer even though sadder, but we say it's more important to live happier even if it's shorter than to live longer and be unhappy . What's the point of living longer if we are only to suffer longer, and not grab life by its horns?

She says we are lucky to have the chance to enjoy life, and so we agree with her, so we want to enjoy life. But she tells us that people do drugs then to enjoy life. So why don't we do that? Right! Or she says she'll take all our hard earned money away, so we won't have the chance to enjoy life. Like enjoying life is a crime.

Anyway, it's cramping my day. I want to think positive. Like I want to think that I have a shot at this job interview I had this morning for a copywriting position 5 minutes away from my home. I hope I get the job, not because it's very near (well, that is a plus), but because it's along my field. I am more comfortable at writing than talking because of this damn trace of an accent.

Well, I'm just crossing my fingers right now. That's my birthday wish, that I get a job that suits my field, not a job where I just tolerate being there. If I could, I want Ann Lander's job that pays loads of money so I can truly have the freedom to enjoy the life I want to live! Wheee!
