I need to talk with Rachel, Andy, Jake and Lash.

In private. Together or individual, I don't care which. Just not on the journal network.

This is less of a request and more of an order.

[Rachel isn't going to bother responding to the post, and instead knocks on Max's door not long after seeing the message.]

Max? You wanted to see me?

::Max opens the door and waves Rachel in::

Yeah, gotta tell you somethin' and I don't wanna send it out on the computer. I ain't good at makin' that sorta thing private.

Yeah, who knows who could be poking around on the network. I wouldn't put something important up there, either.

On Thursday afternoon, Orange Star's HQ was broken into. A single person broken in, and stole a lot of our intel, mostly stuff on the other three nations and Black Hole. Whoever it was was fast enough to get away. Several hours later, the same guy (we think) broke into Green Earth and did the same for them, stole intel, then got out before gettin' caught. At that point all the allied nations went on high alert, and I got called back to Orange Star. After Green Earth, nobody else got hit up, but things are still pretty... tense.

[She nods, and thinks it over for a few moments.]

What have we figured out? Suspects, specifics on what was stolen, anything you can give me.

It was one guy, we've got him on tape, but they were wearin' a disguise and mask, can't get an ID. Heck, can't even figure out if it was a guy or a woman. They took our info on the other allied nations and Black Hole, mostly stuff we were sharing with each other, but some of the stuff we weren't. Lash says she had a lot of prototype weapon designs in there from Black Hole, and that stuff got copied, too. Right now we don't have any firm ideas about who did it.

Doesn't mean I don't have any ideas of my own. I'd put my money on it bein' somebody workin' for Kindle. It's been almost three years and we haven't seen or heard anything from her or Koal, but we know they're still out there.

[orange_leader]

Yeah, they would be my bet, too. It's been too long without any kind of activity from them, and I sure as hell can't think of anyone else who would steal our intel. We'll just have to wait, then. If it was them, we'll probably be finding out what they're planning very soon.

[She pauses again to think.]

Hey... you don't think we might be looking at the beginning of another war, do you?

I dunno, maybe. If it's Kindle and friends, probably, yeah.

Part of me is tired of sittin' around and doin' nothin' with my time but the other part of me knows that peace is good, you know?
