actually, this is really the worst kind of street prostitution in this city. There are certain places in the city where street prostitution is officially and legally allowed. However, those inline skating sex-workers are acquiring their clients in places where street prositution is not allowed. They are mostly heroin-addicts, selling their services for half the price of the competition and without HIV protection. What sounds funny in the news article, is actually very depressing to see in reality. These hardworking women are in terrible health condition. You can imagine that they are not really good inline skaters... often, they can barely stand.

Wow, that is sad. It's too bad that it's more out of desperation than effeciency that these women have to resort to this sort of thing. Is Prostitution legalized in Switzerland?

Excuse my ignorance on the subject, I only hear about infamous Amsterdam in these parts of the world.

prositution itself is not illegal. But it's illegal to employ someone for prostitution, to promote prostitution, to introduce minors into prostitution and of course all kinds of exploiting prostitutes, trafficking of women/people etc. are illegal.

Ug, sorry, I reread your comment and found my answer. I must drink coffee faster in the mornings! *blush*

I wish Canada would legalize prostitution. It would really help keep sex workers a lot safer.
