Why I Hate Children...
Syloken played its first show last saturday! Sunny's birthday party didn't have the largest of turnouts but in a lot of ways I think that made it more fun. There was no pressure, just a room full of friends and a keg of beer! It made for a great envoriement to test the waters of the new band. From where I was standing I thought we sounded really tight! The energy was nice...very nice...
We're still set to play our first "real" show April 7th at Pepe's. Up until recently we were supposed to be playing with the Gunship but thanks to the old mighty ego they have dropped from the show. I talked to Patrick for a bit today and he gave me a few differnt reasons why they were dropping and insisted that it wasn't just because of the drama between them and our bass player... but of course the reasons were SO lame that I just had to make the "smile and node" sound that you make of the phone when your actually just smile and noding.... *COUBULLSHITGH*
But anyway I'm not pissed at the gunship and I'm sure we will play a show with them at some point. I'm just dissipointed that so many people I know and love never seem to be able to find away to put a stop to the ever turning wheel of unnecessary drama bullshit. More over I'm a bit upset because of the everpresent ability OTHER peoples dramabullshit just makes things more dificult for me. I booked this show well over a month ago, have printed up badass color flyers, and even already confermed with Dave that they would be playing DISPITE the dramabullshit.
Children... Children I tell ya... every last damn one of them. (and I don't just mean the gunship I'm talking about little monkeys in south america as well... and you motherfucker!)
