I've been trying to get into some good shows lately, but it's been a trying experience. Why am I so behind on what's new from Japan? ;_;
Here's what I've tried:
Bleach: So stock shonen that it's not even fun to watch. It's Yu Yu Hakusho and Flame of Recca and Dragon Ball.... Almost too predictable.
Trinity Blood: Trigun meets Hellsing, but lame. Like...really lame.
Gankutsuou: Awesome. Completely awesome. Original and beautiful with great characters and music. I need more of stuff like this!
Meine Leid: (is that how you spell it?) Pretty boys with stock backstories who's only possible way of getting good would be for them all to just start boffing, but they're pretending to be straight. Kinda reminds me of Weis.... I'm still giving this one a chance, but we'll see.
Cluster Edge: OMG the boy is like a non-angsty Kamui. Three episodes and I'm completely at a loss. Another one that I might try out for a few episodes, but I'm not horribly impressed so far.
I've seen a couple other mecha shows, but they were so much like remakes of Eva and Rahxephon that it was like watching a bad fanfic. "These names have been changed because we want to pretend it's a new show."
Thank goodness I can still read PSME, Red River, and DNAngel.
Can anyone suggest something to look for, manga or anime? I miss having something to fan over. Please help!
