Bleh...+ Manga Review
Okay, to start:
WOULD IT KILL FOR THE SCHOOL TO FIX ITS AIR-CONDITIONING? LIKE, NOW?!
Bwaaahhh...it's like a furnace in there and the fact that it's like 100 degrees outside doesn't help >:(. Anyway, that's my little rant for the day. Nothing interesting really happened other than my little spaz attack this morning on the way to school when I realised I forgot my geography project. I slaved over a hot keyboard all weekend trying to finish the damn thing! I guess it was my punishment for not spending enough time with my family, hehehe. Well, my mom was nice enough to bring it to school for me (woot!), but it turns out that my geo teacher was "tired" so we didn't do our presentations -_-
Okay, now the manga review for people who care!( and when I mean people I mean anime/art/manga freaks, ahahha). I am soooo addicted to Fruits Basket! It's the most adorable manga ever (the manga is like 10 times better than the anime, in my opinion)! It's really girly, so it may not appeal to guys that much, lol. Basically, it's about a girl named Tohru Honda who lost her mom in a car accident. She decided to live on her own in a tent and get her own job so she wouldn't inconvenience her grandfather, because he's getting his house renovated. Turns out that she set up her tent on the lot of the Sohma family, home of the "Prince Yuki", supposedly the cutest guy in high school! (yes, corny corny blah blah blahhh...). When they find out about her situation, they offer for her to stay at their place until the renovations are complete. But when she stays over, she finds out about their family curse! Whenever they get hugged by someone of the opposite sex or if they get sick or weak, they turn into one of the 12 animals of the chinese zodiac! Tohru promises to keep it a secret, and plenty of hilarious (and sad) events happen!
At first glance, the story seems awfully corny, but it's really cute! The curse poses many threats, and it's really sad. The character developpement is great and the art is different but very nice! Natsuki Takaya is awesome :). It's very dramatic at times and is also among the only manga that can make me laugh out loud. Don't hesistate to pick up a copy! I think there are 14 volumes in all.
