Con report from a Supernatural convention
Shoulder angel and devil - the King of Hell (Mark Sheppard / Crowley) or my beloved angel (Misha Collins / Castiel)! <3 Seriously, I cannot express how happy I am! =) I wish I could have told them better how much that meant to me, but it’s so hard without feeling to be annoying (so many fans… oh boy).
I had the chance to go to a Supernatural convention (AECON) in Germany last week - it was a blast! I didn’t expect anything, as I have never been to a non-furry con before (though I have been to more than 60 furry cons, including having had the honor of being GOH myself). Despite going to AECON alone - I had an amazing time! The stars were wonderful, very entertaining and awesome, I got some unforgettable memories (photos, autographes, great panels) and even though I didn’t know anybody else there, all people were really nice and friendly, the atmosphere was wonderful. :) Very similar to a furry con actually - just swap the gender rate ;) (90% girls, 10% guys)
The guest stars were:
Misha Collins (<3 <3 <3), Mark Sheppard, Richard Speight, Ty Olsson, Julian Richings, Rick Worthy, Kim Rhodes, DJ Qualls, Kevin McNally and Matt Cohen.
I had the chance to get this unique and amazing photo of Savoy with Misha and Mark (when I got back to Misha’s table afterwards without suit to get the photo signed, he said “oh, that was you!”), and also three more single photos (without suit): Misha and me, one with Richard (Trickster / Gabriel) and one with Mark. I am sure I missed so much more (first time at such a convention and no idea what to do / get), but for my first non-furry con - I think I did well. ;)
Btw. Mark looks kinda grumpy on the photo, but unfortunately he did that all day / on all photos (I heard something got messed up with his flight), so that wasn’t a reaction to my suit.
After the photo op with Savoy, I walked around in fursuit in the hotel (Sheraton Frankfurt) for 1 or 2 hours. I first was really nervous about it, as I was alone without spotter and I did not know at all how Supernatural fans would react to a fursuit. But WOW - I had a blast! Those people (fans) were amazing! I think I never got that many positive reactions and attention at a con before, I had so much fun! =) When people asked me why I am doing this, I just said - exactly because of that awesome response - it’s fun. :) I wouldn’t have expected comments like:
“Furries! I love Furries!”
“It’s so fluffeeeeeh I gonna die!”
“So cuuute!”
“Rawr, that’s… doing things to me”
“I saw you (Furries) on TV, I thought it was great”
“What’s your furry name?”
“Do you need water? I will get you a drink with a straw”
I even ended up on stage with Rick Worthy and Ty Olsson for a few minutes! Seriously, these guys were rocking so hard! I wish I had done more photo ops! X) Unfortunately I didn’t find any videos or photos yet, only a bad audio record - check out 26:45 until 28:50 here: http://youtu.be/fdBP-WMkpF8
