it's about saving kids' lives...

Mar 17, 2005 15:55

starting tomorrow at noon i will not be eating for 30 hours. this time will be spent with over 50 other participants, also not eating for 30 hours, and together we will perform local community service in addition to spending time in worship and fellowship.

the objective of the event (titled 30 Hour Famine) is to raise funds for an organization called World Vision who has outreach programs in Africa, South/Central America and Asia providing education, food, health care and housing for those affected by AIDS, the tsunamis, genocide and drought.

i am $50 away from being able to apply for a Study Tour in Kenya for two weeks in July and August. i will be collecting money for another week, so please contact me if you would like to donate, or just have questions about getting involved. every little bit helps...

"The world's on fire and
It's more than I can handle
I'll tap into the water
(Try and bring my share)
I try to bring more
More than I can handle
(Bring it to the table)
Bring what I am able..."

we have such great potential to affect our world in a positive way, and together nothing is impossible, nothing is more than we can handle.

"...The more we take, the less we become
A fortune of one that means less for some."

consider this: one dollar will save one child for one day.

Act. Fast.
