Title : Run Through The Jungle (1/? )

Author :
taniapretender

Genre : Crossover, Multiple chapters story ( WIP, but i've got 10 chapters written so far. Probably out of 20 )

Fandoms : Supernatural, Dark Angel

Characters : pretty much everyone, and OCs.

Spoilers : Freak Nation (2x21) for Dark Angel, Hunted (2x10) for supernatural, though timeline is set at the beginning of Everybody loves a Clown (2x02)...

Ratings : PG13 for disturbing pictures, swearing and fighting.

Disclaimer : I'm just a fangirl. Since when do we own anything ?

Beta-reader : huge thanks to
i_speak_tongue , doing an awesome job helping me re-write it ( for the third time. And no, i'm not kidding. )

A/N : Ok, so timeline will be explained in the first chapter, but so you understand, I'm taking Supernatural's one ( 2007) . So everything that happened in DA happen here 12 years sooner ( starting with Manticore and the Pulse )

Also, IF anyone is familiar with the end of DA's season two, and especially how TC could become organized, I'd really love to find a beta-reader who could help me be sure I got that part right. Wouldn't want to mess with that part.

Summary : After listening to a strange voicemail on their father's phone, Dean and Sam head to Seattle, and find themselves in a mess even they couldn't have imagined. They soon realize the town is helding the answer to many questions.

Sam woke up abruptly, the motor of the Minivan Bobby lent them wailing in his ears, its unfamiliar sound making him feel uncomfortable. Dean was clearly having a hard time behind the wheel too, his face twisted in disgusted as he fought against the engine to stay at a proper speed. If it had been up to him, the brothers wouldn't have left their friend's place until Dean had finished working on the car, but Sam had insisted they go as quickly as possible. He couldn't stand watching his brother isolate himself all day long. Couldn't keep on hanging around in the house as Dean stayed on his own in the scrap yard. Damnit, he wanted his brother back.

And so he'd jumped on the opportunity when he heard the voicemail some stranger left on their dad's phone, finally giving them something to do. Sam had tracked its origin, which pointed to Seattle, a city they'd tried to avoid religiously because of its regular id checks. They'd asked Bobby for a replacement car, hugged him goodbye and hit the road.

“You alright, Sammy?” Dean asked, briefly looking at him before setting his eyes back on the road.

“Huh? yeah. I'm okay - just a nightmare, you know."

"Hu hu," Dean replied, sighing. He raised an eyebrow, clearly making Sam understand he got the subtext, but wasn't really keen on pushing his brother right now.

"You hu...you want me to drive for a while?" Sam proposed. "You look like you could use some sleep."

"Nah, 'm fine. Plus your right eye is still a bit swollen. It'd be too dangerous for you to drive." Dean raised his eyebrows, looking Sam straight in the eyes, daring him to say disallow the truth.

“I can’t believe we’re going to Seattle” Sam breathed out. “What the hell are people staying there for anyway?”

“I don’t know, Sammy. Maybe they don’t wanna leave their home?” Dean guessed, and he wans’t that far away from the truth, as the only reason people had stayed in Seattle after the tragedy was because they hadn’t had anywhere to go to.

“Hey - what exactly do you remember of the Pulse?”

“Not much,” Dean answered as he warily looked in the rearview mirror. “It was in ’97 if I recall correctly.”

“Yeah, we were living in Michigan at that time, right?” Sam asked and saw his brother nod. He remembered that time alright.

Their father had gone to Oregon to meet with Joshua, and he and Dean had both stayed at the motel they’d been living in for about four month.

“ I remember hearing the news. They only talked about an electricty failure first, because there hadn’t been anyone to report what was going on.” Dean swallowed and Sam realised he already knew what would come next. “I remember trying to call dad, and not being able to reach him for 5 days.”

His voice was trembling now, even as he tried to hide the emotion away. Dean had always known, all his childhood long, that his father might just disappear one day, just like his mom had. He’d always felt that pinch in his heart whenever his Dad’s car disappeared in the horizon, the thought of a new hunt, a new possible accident, keeping him away at night.

“I remember you telling me not to worry” Sam half-smiled, sorry his brother had to carry so much on his shoulders, so soon. “That nothing could have happened to Dad, because then we’d have known.”

And he’d been right, in a way. They’d always known when something bad happened. The air always felt thicker then, harder to breathe in, the words heavier in their throat as they try to reassure eachother.

“This is gonna be one hell of a trip” Dean said, dismissing the memory some place dark in his brain.
