SO. I've come to realize I've been working my ass off this week. Seriously, it's the first time in a long time ( probably pre-med, which I failed miserably for those of you who don't know ) I've been working this hard, only surfing/reading fanfictions for breaks.
This makes me, of course, quite proud of myself, as I now consider I'm not as lazy as I used to be. Am I growing up ? hee \o/.
No, seriously. I need to work if I want to have a good chance at getting the best destination for next year. USA, here I come. I'm also prepping for the TOEFL test, which I'm probably gonna take in December ( arg, only two months left ! ) and I found an AWESOME free site from San Fran to give me tips, practice on-line and post my essays on a board to have them commented.
And Okay, I know my English is far from perfect, but I still consider myself better than the average ( god I sound so full of myself... ) and when I see "average" people getting a good score at the test, I'm thinking "they succeed, I should too." Still, I shouldn't take it for granted, as I often use simple sentences when I write. And their questions can be tricky. So yeah, training every Sunday Morning is what I've in mind. I hope it will help... I'm also considering buying a book, with tricky grammar rules and stuff.
And then I gotta get ready to charm the jury, lol. What do you guys think is best : talking like I would with a friend, with "ain't"s and "gonna"s or trying to have the most sophisticated language, which isn't something I'm sure to be comfortable with... ?
So, flist, you basically got the general idea : not so much fic writing to come... Sorry for those of you waiting for the next part of whatever thing I posted last... I know I never post it soon enough anyway, but I'm gonna have to ignore those damn plot bunnies... And focus on school. ( also, great news : I learned accounting can be fun ! whee! I so win ! )
