Summary: Murder. Slytherins. An enchanted snake. Just another Weasley birthday. Really.
Why: Despite my self-avowed love of characterization, I also have a very healthy relationship with plot. This story provides both. femmequixotic tells the story with style and grace, making Ron into the type of strong character that I'm always more than happy to see him as, and showing Draco to be his usual stubborn and yet perhaps not all bad self. I like the way this story is written, the way that the author uses the plot to push the characters along, the way that small things may mean a great deal. The character's emotions may not always be explicitly stated, but they are still there, for anyone with the eyes to see them. The action also moves forward very well, with never a dull moment. My only complaint is that I wish there were more to it!
